"What a terrible store! Ty was unhelpful, and generally just pretty rotten to deal with. Do it yourself a favor, and drive the few extra miles to go to the Santa Fe Advance, where they are friendly and helpful and provide awesome customer service. If that's too far, there's an O'Reilly and a NAPA and an Auto Zone that are closer...but definitely avoid this Advance! Fyi, the people at the Santa Fe Advance are utterly fantastic, and of course Advance tends to have good batteries.
My vehicle broke down on a trip from Nags Head, and the nearest Advance Auto parts (Edmonton) was 30 plus miles away, so well over an hour round trip, and my friend turned around and got me and drove me there and back. The employees there were friendly and helpful and fantastic. I was uncomfortable with the size of the recommended battery, so with their assurances that Advance has a no hassle return policy at any Advance, and that I could return the unused battery and also my core at any Advance, I purchased the recommended battery and a larger battery and the tools with which to install them. After I got to Fayetteville, I have my car worked on, and then I went to the Ramsey Street store to return my core and the unused battery...where Ty informed me that he doesn't take unused battery returns "because once they're out the door they're considered installed" in spite of the fact that he informed me that Advance sold me the wrong battery (the smaller one that they recommended, that I was uncomfortable with, but I don't know how he would know that because it's not like he looked on the computer to check) AND he wouldn't take my core and refund me the core charge because "it's not the core that was on the receipt"; I have no idea what core is on the receipt, as they never saw the core because it was in my broken down car, but it was the core from my car, and an Advance battery to boot, as they're good batteries, so that's what I generally buy, and in my entire life of buying new batteries I've never had a problem returning any core, ever. I asked him to explain to me how they would put a specific core on the receipt when they never actually saw my battery, and he just kept saying that they sold me the wrong battery and that my core was different and he finally said he didn't know how else to explain it. It all felt pretty scammy. So at this point, I'm stuck with an unused, Advance recommended battery that I purchased after ensuring that I could return it to any Advance, my dead core Advance battery, and I'm out the money as well for BOTH the core charges that I had to pay to buy both batteries. I called the Edmonton store where they put me through to John, who told me to go back and if I had any more issues to have them call him and he would take care of it (thank you John, and the Edmonton store where the employees and particularly Larry were awesome!); I wasn't about to step foot back in that awful Ramsey Street store after my earlier experience with unhelpful Ty, so I went over to the Santa Fe Drive store, where I had an entirely different experience from the Ramsey Street store; the guys there were awesome and helpful and they truly do have a no hassle return policy at that store. Thank you Lollis and Johnston, for being awesome, and giving me a hassle free and stress-free experience-very much the kind I was used to at the terrific Advance Auto on Murchison road before they closed. I'd like to mention that the other interactions I observed in the Fayetteville Santa Fe Drive store were also pretty fantastic; the guys at the Santa Fe store, unlike Ty at the Ramsey Street store, really do seem to try hard to be helpful to their customers.
I'm very pleased with the battery I'm keeping and the tools I purchased."

"I get that it’s Saturday morning and you’re sleepy but you don’t have to roll your eyes whenever someone asks for a battery test. Worker was pretty rude and I just felt like I was inconveniencing her the whole time while I was just staying nice."
