"I broke down in my van 17 years ago on I-70 few miles from the Greenville, IL exit on my way from Plymouth, MA to Abiquiu, NM. These guys came out, towed me to their shop, took parts off a Ford van out back & customized them to work for my Chevy van. They also gave me an oil change, topped off all my fluids, did a once over to make sure nothing else would break down & wished me well on my travels. Van drove to NM then back to MA & many miles over the next few years with no issues. I'm currently riding my bicycle from Plymouth, MA back to Abiquiu, NM & I made it a point to come back here to thank them again for helping me back then. Such kind people, they were happy to help & to know they were greatly appreciated."

"Just want to give credit where it's due. I'm from the Chicago area, and my daughter was traveling alone down I-70 near Pocahontas back to college on Sunday, 2/15/15, and the vehicle died unexpectedly on the highway in the middle of nowhere. A parents worst fear. Being a AAA member, my first instinct was to call AAA to assist her, but I sat on hold for over an hour while they tried to locate someone in their network. By the time they came back with a place over 30 miles away, a state trooper had already came to her aid and recommended he call Mick's for her.
At first, I was a little leery to let her say yes to a place I've never heard of, and out of the AAA network, but the trooper assured us they are very good folks. Mick towed the vehicle to his place and took my daughter to a local hotel for no extra charge. By the time I got there 5 hours later with a big snow storm just starting, my daughter was warm and safe, and the vehicle was in good hands.
Upon quick inspection, it turned out to be a bad alternator. Mick had one of his mechanics come in the next morning, on a holiday and during a big snow storm as well, to install a new one. They did a fantastic job, and got us back on the road that morning. As I was bracing for the bill, I got shocked at the very reasonable cost for the tow and work.
Needless to say, I was in a real jam, and no doubt could have easily been taken to the cleaners. Thank God for the good honest folks at Mick's and the state trooper who recommended them. I would very much highly recommend them to anyone.
BTW - Mick's is not located properly by Google. They are located approx. 2 miles south of I-70 on Rte 127 across from the airport."
