"Guys who work here are great. Get the work done, and importantly don't push on stuff you don't want to get done. I brought in my car knowing the struts and control arms were shot and they only did my engine mounts like asked. Quoted me for the rest and left it there. They so charged me about $600 less than the dealership. I will be bringing my car back again."

"2 years back I used to come here frequently for major repairs.
Got a turbo replacement for a couple thousand and i had to bring it back 3 times bc of a leak it had despite being new.
Had an oil pan replacement that still leaked after install. Brought it back once and got it fixed.
Payed a fortune for a timing cover gasket and a valve cover seal replacement. Still Leaked despite bringing it back Again.
Owner seems alright, how ever definitely was a waste of money until I changed to a different shop to replace everything they did. They told me it was all wrong and my car never leaked ever again.
Spent thousands of dollars here. Would not recommend unless you’re low on money.
Would also help if their mechanics actually bolted everything to spec. Wastes a little bit more time but it looks better when people are walking by."

"The man does not value his customers. My expansion tank was leaking coolant so I was putting green coolant in it (because it’s cheaper than the blue coolant my car requires) just for the time being until I could get everything replaced. He replaced the tank with a non-original part that looked nothing like the one that was there prior. He then gave me a whole speech about how I should NEVER put green coolant in my car because it’s bad for it. I asked him if the correct blue coolant had been placed inside he said yes. Then one day my dad and I were doing simple work to change the spark plugs and hit the tubing for the makeshift tank he placed and it popped off and started spewing coolant everywhere. Flimsy. And guess what color the coolant it was spewing was? Green.
I ended up paying a different shop to do a fluid exchange. The man is not trustworthy I used to drive all the way from sf to sj for them but it’s not worth it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a woman or what all the good reviews seem to be from men. Just AVOID."

"I picked up some used window motors for a Porsche I'm working on, very fairly priced, paid exactly what was quoted, in and out without any hassle...totally recommend them for used German hard to find parts..."

"A1 German takes good care of me. I have been going for a few years now and l am very comfortable with them and trust that they will give their customers the best fair price. They show you pictures of the parts on your car that is having problems, and will save your parts to show you that are from your car. The front desk personnel are so polite. They are very busy as a auto shop should be. We don’t see what is going on in the back so we don’t know how many cars they are working on but they do their best endeavor to get your car back to you as quick as they can. As patrons we have to be patient especially during the Covid because parts are even more difficult to acquire and may delay your car being finished."
